School Community Councils

A School Community Council is established to facilitate continuing communication and promote mutual understanding between the school and the community. The council has a key role in the learning success and the well-being of all students. It is also responsible for encouraging and facilitating parent and community engagement in school planning and improvement processes. A School Community Council will provide ongoing organization through which the opinions, concerns and proposals of the electors and parents/guardians may be brought to the attention of the Board.

The Balfour Collegiate School Community Council
2008– 2009

The Balfour Collegiate School Community Council is committed to being informed and supportive partners with the administration, teachers and staff of Balfour Collegiate. We strive to promote the welfare of students through parent and student education and school involvement. We believe in the Regina Public Schools Shared Values (I Respect, I Belong, I Want to Know, I am Responsible) and support the enforcement of these values every day at Balfour Collegiate.

Our monthly meetings are a place for all parents to come and learn more about Balfour, this wonderfully diverse high school, where our sons and daughters spend many hours each day. We encourage and discuss parent concerns and difficult issues facing teens and their families today. All Balfour parents are welcome…come out and join us!   Meetings are on the first Tuesday of each month.
