The Balfour Collegiate School Community Council (SCC) is a group of parents who meet with school staff throughout the year to promote the learning success and well-being of all Balfour students, and to provide advice and recommendations regarding educational issues.
All parents and guardians are welcome to be part of the Balfour Collegiate SCC. Research shows that parents’ educational interest and participation increases students’ success in school. The SCC is a great way to stay connected with what’s happening at the school and to participate in the success of our school and students.
Our next meeting and annual general meeting and will take place on May 15, 2019 at 7PM in the staff lounge (across the hall from the school office). We hope to see you there!
Please Donate to the Balfour SCC
The Balfour Collegiate School Community Council (SCC) is asking for your funding support to help us promote the learning success and well-being of students attending Balfour Collegiate.
So far in 2018/19, we’ve used funds provided by the school board to support:
- Following Their Voices – $500
- Industrial Arts – $500
- Community Senior’s Night – $500
- The Shirley Schneider Support Centre – $700
- Balfour Arts Collective – $500
The Balfour SCC is currently raising funds for new water bottle filling stations.
There are a number of additional areas where funding from the SCC would benefit students’ educational opportunities and well-being—we need your donations to make that happen.
The SCC would greatly appreciate it if Balfour families would donate a minimum $10 per student to the Balfour SCC.
Donating is easy: visit https://rbe.schoolcashonline.com, where you normally pay for student fees. Select “Parents’ Association – 2018/2019” and submit your donation along with any other items you’ve selected.
Donations can also be made by cheque or cash at the school office.
Please note: all funds stay at Balfour Collegiate and are used to benefit students’ educational outcomes and well-being. Thank you for supporting Balfour students!
